Yes, the passport is always required to travel for US Citizens. Apart from Passport & Visa no other ID is required.

For U.S. citizens traveling internationally, the type of visa required depends on the destination country and the purpose of travel. Here are some general guidelines:

  1. Visa-Free Travel: U.S. citizens can travel to many countries for tourism or business purposes without a visa for a specified period. This is often granted on arrival or through an electronic travel authorization (eTA) system. Examples include many countries in Europe under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), such as the Schengen Area countries, the United Kingdom, and others like Japan, South Korea, and Australia.
  2. Tourist Visa: If a country does not allow visa-free travel for U.S. citizens, a tourist visa might be required for leisure or recreational travel.

It’s important to check the specific visa requirements of the country you plan to visit well in advance of your trip. This information can typically be found on the website of the embassy or consulate of the destination country or through official visa application centers.
